DIY: Shake Shake Ice Cream

With the temperature steadily rising, I thought it would be fun to do some ice cream for our DIY! The ingredients list is super small, and it is seriously, super easy!

What you will need:

• One freezer gallon ziplock bag

• One quart ziplock bag

• Rock Salt (6 tablespoons for each gallon bag)

• Lots of ice

Ingredients:

• 1⁄2 cup of your choice of dairy - half and half, whole milk, 2%, 1% are all compatible (If you try something else, please let us know how it turns out!)

• 1⁄4 tsp vanilla extract

• 1 Tablespoon white sugar

- If you want to do chocolate instead, add 2 teaspoons of cocoa powder and an additional 1⁄2 teaspoon of white sugar.

Take your freezer gallon ziplock bag and fill it half of the way with ice, and add the rock salt. Zip up the gallon ziplock and shake it around a little to mix the salt with the ice. I have some really big cups, so used those to hold up our quart bags safely. Put your ingredients into the quart ziplock back, zip closed.

Place your quart ziplock bag inside of the gallon one and zip it up. Shake for about 5 minutes or until the mixture reaches a creamy consistency! My kids played more than they shook the bags, so it took them a bit longer lol. Remove the smaller bag, wipe it off, and eat!
