DIY: The Park Bag

Imagine you are trying to go to the park or meet up with some other moms for a playdate! You are in a hurry to get the kids out of the house because every moment you're inside your son or daughter realized they had to go to the bathroom, or you have to nurse them, or a sudden fit of hunger has hit! So, you rush out the door with everyone in tow and get to your destination. It's time to relax and just let the kids play! You notice that it's really sunny out and think about how you wish you had remembered sunscreen, but couldn't fit another thing into your already overflowing diaper bag! We have all been there, or are prepping ourselves for that moment we know is coming :) Here is a list of items that we know we need but forget we need it until we actually need it... right?! ;) (Since all of our diaper bags are full, I would recommend putting these items into a smaller bag within your diaper bag, or your car, so you know where it is! And, if you have happen to have a Cobb Moms swag bag left over that you weren't sure how to use... then we have found the solution to your bag problem!)

  • Lavender Essential Oil & Bandages- If there is one thing we can count on then it is the fact that our children love to explore and will end up hurt somehow. Lavender oil is an amazing way to keep a boo-boo clean without all of the goop like most antibiotic creams. It dries quickly while still providing healing properties! It is even a calming oil so if your little one gets extremely upset when hurt then lavender will help relax them so Dr. Mom can bandage the spot!

  • Wipes- We usually carry these in our diaper bags anyways but having an extra set in your summer bag is always good! These are mostly for those messy hands that seem to find the gum on the ground or happened to get yogurt all over their hands and mouth.

  • Bug Spray- Summertime in Georgia means that the mosquitos have come out to play with your kids! Having bug spray on hand helps stop the bite before it happens so your kids aren't scratching that itchy spot all the way home. We recommend California Baby bug spray because it is a natural way to stop those pesky bugs without the chemicals.

  • Sunscreen- The sun is the best part about summer! It can also be a menace when we forget sunscreen, or forget to reapply. There are a few natural sunscreens out there but whatever you choose don't forget to apply, reapply, and reapply again!

  • Cloth Wipes- These wipes also serve a different purpose than those that we keep in our diaper bags. Those swings and slides that keep our kids occupied are also dirty, with water from an early morning rain or leftover dew that the sun missed to dirt and other things. Cloth wipes help dry those play objects so you don't have to use your hand or shirt.

Don't forget your park bag for traveling or just being outside this summer! Did we forget something? What else would you add in your bag?
